Network Connections

The Gratiot Area Chamber is offering a new member benefit called Network Connections. Network Connections is a referral group that will be made up of Chamber members who are looking for another way to promote their business. Each group will be made up of individuals from different types of businesses. Groups are forming now and will start meeting in September.

Following is some additional information that will give you a better idea of what to expect from of Network Connections. If you are interested in taking part in Network Connections, please call or e-mail the Chamber office. We are keeping a list and will be scheduling an organizational meeting for everyone interested in mid-September.

Guidelines

·         Roundtable members must be current members of the Gratiot Area Chamber, and pay an annual non-refundable $100.00 fee to participate in the Network Connection group.  The fee must be paid in full upon acceptance of the application and prior to attending the first meeting as a member.  The renewal fee will be due in full upon their anniversary date.

·         Only one person per specific profession and/or member firm may join each Network Connection group.  The Organization Committee will determine decisions regarding similar professions.  The Organizational Committee will make the final decision based on the selection process.

·         Guests are encouraged to visit the Network Connections group and may visit twice before deciding to join.  Guests may give a 60-second introduction as well as receive leads and testimonials if they are not in conflict with current member.

·         Potential members must complete a membership application and submit it along with application fee to the chair of the Network Connections group of their choice.

·         Attendance is required at weekly meetings that last 90 minutes.    You should be present at the meeting by the regularly scheduled start time.  If you miss three consecutive meetings your Network Connection membership will be evaluated and may be dropped.

·         Participation is based on passing leads, bringing guests, scheduling guest speakers, giving testimonials, and attendance.  These are reviewed on a continual basis.  Group statistics for these items are shared monthly, and the individual statistics are available quarterly upon request.

·         The proper way to gain qualified referral for fellow roundtable members is to put them in a proactive position by asking the client if he/she would mind if the Network Connections member called him/her.  The opposite would be to ask the client to call the Network Connections member, which leaves the Network Connection member in an inactive position waiting for a phone call that may never materialize.

·         The Network Connection group and its members will not promote any policy that is in conflict with the policy and procedures of the Gratiot Area Chamber of Commerce.
